Livelihoods

Despite the improvement in the security situation, in mainly densely populated areas of the country, millions of Somalis continue to face huge socio-economic challenges. The social fabric of the country has been damaged with millions of people living below the poverty line.

We work to promote positive coping mechanisms for vulnerable people and communities and reduce dependency on emergency supplies and services. Our livelihood programming involves a recovery and resilience-oriented approach, with an emphasis on supporting the efforts of the communities we work with to enhance self-recovery and cover critical gaps.

We work to create income-generating opportunities by supporting local initiatives and partnering with beneficiary communities
