Water Sanitation & Hygiene

In many parts of Somalia sufficient access affordable safe water, adequate sanitation, solid waste management and hygiene kits, remains a challenge. We support existing water systems to stabilize their decline and to restore piped water distribution in communities currently dependent on water trucking.

Our activities include light rehabilitation of infrastructure, distribution of supplies, water treatment and disinfection products, community capacity building and improvement of water supply in schools, child-friendly spaces and healthcare facilities. We distribute Non-Food-Items in communities with the aim of improving and encouraging beneficiaries to strengthen good hygiene practices.

We also conduct social and behaviour change campaigns with the aim of improving overall hygienic knowledge attitudes and practices.
